Steven Dominick Gerardi, age 61, was surrounded by family when he passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 25 2019 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 8, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland to Alfonso and Joanne Gerardi.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Casper Gerardi. He leaves behind his wife Debbie and their three children: Aubree Bucek, Jenna Dempsey, and Justin Hanson, two grandchildren Carter Dempsey and Brooklyn Bucek, his mother Joanne Gerardi, his siblings, Kathy Stanewich, Barbra Gerardi and Charles Gerardi along with a host of other cousins, family and friends.
Steve was born into a Marine military family and followed in his father’s footsteps by serving our country. He moved to Texas at the age of 25 where he began his long career in the automotive industry. Steve’s first job was at Jimmy Green Chevrolet; from there he worked his way through the industry ultimately following his life long dream of opening his own body shop. Through his many years of hard work and determination, he met, worked with and touched many lives. He often would go out of his way to help people, some of which he hardly even knew. It is no wonder he is loved and adored by so many people from so many different walks of life. Outside of his passion for his job, he loved working in his yard tending to anything that had roots, riding and working on his Harley and fishing. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. The way Steve left this world is just like how he lived in it: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority and he paved his own way. And if someone told him he couldn’t do it, he would find a way to prove them wrong.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Friday, July 12 at 11am at Dignity Memorial Funeral home, located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd Katy, TX 77494.
