Born and raised in Germany during a time of war, Ruth grew up to be a strong, attentive, and hardworking young lady. She was a fashion model and seamstress, and fell madly in love with a handsome American soldier named Dennis Helm. They married on June 18th, 1955, and ultimately moved to the United States where they grew a family of their own. Their love story evolved for over 63 years, and their bond never faded.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by her husband- Dennis Helm, two biological daughters- Stephanie and Kimberley, son-in-law Bill Fleming, two handsome grandchildren- Ryan and Kyle Fleming, and 6 adopted Vietnamese children named: Thanh-Van Nguyen, Hang Dong, Trung Van Nguyen, Tin Van Nguyen, Trang Tucker and Tram Brown. She will also be remembered by her numerous extended family and friends, whom she laughed with, cried with, and cherished memories of regularly.
True to her giving heart, Ruth requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory be given to the following charity:
