Patricia Ann Lindsay left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on June 13, 2014. She was born April 5, 1926 to Frederick and Flora Manchester in Salem, Massachusetts. She was surrounded by many family members who dearly loved this precious woman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Durwood G. Lindsay, her parents, and her brother Robert “Bob” Manchester. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Medellin and her husband Dr. Hector Medellin of Houston, and Diann Rodgers and her husband Steve Rodgers of Richmond, TX. Also surviving are her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are Alex Medellin of Denver, CO, Patty Medellin and her sons Julian and Diego Salazar, Hector Medellin and wife Alejandra and daughters Sarah and Alejandra, Maggie McKinney and husband Jeremy and daughter Olivia all of Katy, TX, Andres Medellin and wife Susan and daughters Mara and Kyalan of Conroe, TX. Pat grew up in Salem, and after high school moved to Washington, D.C. to work as a fingerprint expert with the FBI during WWII. She then moved back to Boston to attend and graduate from Boston Business College. She met her future husband Durwood when her brother brought him home after the two had been on a Naval Expedition to Antarctica after surviving the war. It was love at first sight! They married and moved to Providence, Rhode Island where Durwood attended Bryant College taking 4 years of curriculum in and graduating in 2 ½ years. Durwood signed on with DuPont, and was sent to the Sabine River Plant in Orange. After raising her children, Pat went back to work as an Executive Secretary. After traveling throughout Florida, they chose Vero Beach as their retirement home. Pat loved the water and the beaches and she had been promised by her husband that they would retire in a beach community. They spent 22 years very happily retired before Durwood passed away after 56 years of marriage. Pat continued there until 3 years ago when she returned to Houston. Pat was a very happy, loving, and sweet woman, and she will forever be in the hearts of those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity, or that you do a kindness to someone in need. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church located at 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston, TX 77024. A reception will follow in the St. Cecilia Community Center.
