Mrs. Nancy Eddings, 74, passed away Tuesday March 9th, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her husband, Felton, lovingly cared for her from the home they shared in Cypress, TX until her final moment.
Born on May 9, 1946 in Houston, Texas, Nancy was adopted by Marvin & Aletha Dickey. As a girl, she enjoyed riding her horse, Paint, and participating in dance and drill team. She graduated from Furr High School in 1965, and soon married her high school sweetheart, Felton Eddings, in 1966. She spent a number of years working for the Harris County clerk prior to starting her family and transitioning to being a full-time homemaker (at which she truly excelled).
Nancy and Felton welcomed their daughter, Tammy, in 1971 followed by Mark in 1976. They moved the family to Katy, TX in 1978, where they would raise their family and stay for 25 years. As founding members of Kingsland Baptist Church, they formed many life-long friendships and grew closer to the Lord.
Nancy devoted her life and love to her family and friends. Her kids never had a game, recital, or life event where she was not there with her “Mom goggles” on to root for her kids. That passion extended to her grandkids when Ashley arrived in 1995, even to the point of her coming out of retirement to care for her during the day while her parents worked, a sacrifice and service she extended to numerous grandchildren. In all, she was beloved “Nana” to her 6 grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew (’98), and Sydney Lovett (’03) and Andrew (’03), Carter (’06), and Emily Eddings (’09), who all loved her dearly. When her kids married, Nancy welcomed Jeff & Jill with open arms, treating them like her own, which included becoming their biggest cheerleaders and fiercest defender.
While Nancy put her family first, she made plenty of room to take her many friends into her heart. Her hand was always first in the air when it came time to volunteer to host a party, shower, or simply to be there for any of her friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In memory of Nancy, rather than flowers, her family suggests a donation to The Alzheimer’s Association, or New Life Adoptions at 11439 Spring Cypress Road. Bldg. C Tomball, Texas 77377(www.newlifeadopt.com ).
