Colleen was born on March 1, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Jeaneane Gardner and Robert Kelly Reynolds. She graduated from Westbury High School in 1973. Colleen married Thomas Michael Sears “Mike”, her high school sweetheart in 1973. Their wedding was just 2 days after her 18th birthday. Over their 23 year marriage, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Colleen set about teaching them how to love others unconditionally. Her children remember her as a kind, generous, compassionate and fiercely independent mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals, and a life of perseverance and giving back. Colleen was accomplished at giving to those in need and a beacon of acceptance to the downtrodden and the rejected. She often would take her children to feed homeless individuals and her home was a place of refuge for any who needed shelter or a family. She was a dedicated individual who loved giving to others and who was passionate about helping others see their own unique beauty. She was an active and wholehearted person who often volunteered at homeless shelters, her children’s schools and was always willing to help. Colleen was a shining example of finding a way, a solution, to any problem that was placed at her feet. Colleen found peace, love and a true relationship with God in her final days.
