Lisa was about family. She and her husband of 32 years, Brian Huddleston, built a great life together in Katy, Texas. Lisa adored her two children, Kiley and Hope, and today they are living examples of the beautiful, kind, and gentle person that Lisa was to everyone. Watch her kids and you will see Lisa in them.
Lisa graduated from Westchester High School in 1979, before attending Texas Tech in Lubbock. Her professional career began at Neiman Marcus, where she was recognized with the coveted “NM Best Award” for her extraordinary customer care. Afterwards, she left to become a committed sports mom, always supporting Kiley’s baseball/football teams, and Hope’s volleyball teams. All the parents of kids from those teams will remember Lisa’s happy, bright smile, and the passion she brought to every event during those special years.
Lisa was full of energy and faced challenge with a quiet confidence. Lisa loved staying active, and she was fearless but modest. Lisa swam for Dad’s Club as a kid, and worked life guard duties as a young adult, spending summers at the pool teaching kids how to swim. After having her own kids, Lisa kept fit participating in fun-runs; then later she ran marathons and triathlons. After 40, she started a whole new career at Katy Independent School District, where she became assistant to the principal and recently won “Paraprofessional of the Year” award for 2020-21. Lisa also had a sweet tooth, and with impressively artistic touches, she made lovely cake creations that were almost too neat to eat. Lisa’s cakes and treats brought much joy to many people.
In addition to her husband and children, Lisa is survived by her mother, Virginia Mangum; her brother, Glynde Mangum; and her sister, Alyson Hidalgo. All her family and friends will remember Lisa’s quick smile and easy laugh; and the beautiful example she set for us as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
