She was born October 29, 1943 in Plainview, TX to Paul John Kovar and Lula Jean McPherson. Kathy attended her first 8 years of school at Shrine of the True Cross, Catholic School in Dickinson, TX. She graduated from La Marque High School and continued on to the University of Houston to obtain her Bachelors in accounting. She devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren while working at A&A Machine & Fabrication until she retired after 25 years. Kathy was a very hard working woman and believed that there was no excuse for missing a day of work. After retirement she enjoyed piddling around her garden, taking her dog Rascal for long walks, and spending time with family and friends.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband Edward Hightower of 59 years of marriage; daughters, Paula Procell and husband Steve of League City, TX; Cherie Alvis of Zavalla, TX; grandchildren Blake Hightower of Katy, TX, Catherine Garza of Guam, Santa Rita, Joseph Perez of Austin, TX and Jordan Perez of Santa Fe, TX.
Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
