Judy McCoy, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and world traveler, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, at the age of 84. The daughter of Ursula and George Murphy, Judy was a true renaissance woman who touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her adventurous spirit and boundless love.
Throughout her extraordinary life, Judy journeyed and lived across the globe with her late husband Warren McCoy and her "Boys," experiencing the jungles of Venezuela, the beaches of Mexico, the countryside of the United Kingdom, the fjords of Norway, and even a remote desert island in the Persian Gulf. She had the rare privilege of meeting the Queen of England, dancing with Patrick Swayze, and receiving a kiss on the cheek from John Wayne. Judy also had encounters with stars such as Leslie Nielsen, Jon Voight, Robert Duvall, Tim Conway, Liam Neeson, Marvin Zindler, and Bill Paxton. She served as the PR manager for a national Elvis Tribute Show, which traveled across the United States, where she made lifelong friends.
In addition to her many adventures, Judy volunteered her time in assisted living homes while living in Mexico and South America, bringing smiles to the faces of the residents. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to helping others wherever she went.
Despite the brushes with celebrity and the glamour that surrounded her, Judy’s true mission in life was charity. She was a constant source of strength, offering a kind word and helping hand to those in need. Judy’s generosity, compassion, and unwavering support for others were the cornerstones of her life, always being the strong shoulder her loved ones could lean on.
Judy is survived by her sister, Diane Gordon Murphy, and predeceased by her youngest sister, Robbie Murphy. She is also survived by her devoted sons, Donny McCoy and Mike McCoy, and her daughter-in-law, Tiffany. She leaves behind a loving legacy in her grandchildren, Michael and his wife Danielle, Maegan and her husband Bruce, and Madeline, as well as her great-grandchildren, Connor, Ireland, Declan, Lincoln, and Lane, who will carry forward her spirit of love, strength, and generosity. Judy is also survived by many close friends whom she considered family.
Since the inception of the Fulshear Police Foundation, Judy served as its administrator. Through four Foundation Presidents, countless events, and numerous Directors, she was the constant lifeblood of the Foundation’s day-to-day operations. Judy not only served as an administrator but as an on-call consultant, life coach, friend, and “Mom.”
In lieu of flowers, Judy requested that donations be made to the Fulshear Police Foundation, which 100 percent goes to training and equipment for the officers. You can donate by clicking on this link: https://tinyurl.com/km89svmx (Fulshear Police Foundation Donation)
