J’Don was born April 3, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Donald and Joan Morrison. Her family relocated from New Orleans to Humble, Texas in August of 1965. J’Don graduated from St. Pius X High School, where she met the love of her life. She later received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, School of Nursing. J’Don began her professional career as a Registered Nurse working in various hospitals around the Houston area, and continued her education and career in Occupational Health and Safety. J’Don was a respected and successful business woman, and started Bollom Consulting in 2010. She was an active parishioner at St. Faustina Catholic Church, and enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
J’Don was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Lillian Bollom. She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Marcus Bollom of Katy, Texas; sons, Marcus Bollom of Spring, Texas, Andrew Bollom of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephen Bollom of Beach Park, Illinois; daughter Diane Overbey and husband Seth Overbey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren William Bollom, Jacob Bollom, Annabelle Bollom, Madelyn Bollom, Clara Bollom and Julianna Bollom; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Frances Bollom; brother Stuart Morrison and wife Maria; two half-brothers and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
J’Don will be remembered for her infectious smile, soft blue eyes, natural beauty, positive attitude, kind demeanor and fun-loving personality. Her beautiful red hair was certain to capture all those in the room. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved laughing. She never met a stranger and had an admirable ability to make all around her comfortable. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, and was always quick to forgive. J’Don loved spending time with her family, relaxing at the family farm in Shiner, Texas, and enjoyed sewing and quilting for loved ones. She had a love for nature and found great enjoyment in spending time with the cattle at the family farm. J’Don had the natural ability to overcome obstacles with dignity and grace, a trait she steadfastly demonstrated during the final year of her life on Earth.
J’Don touched numerous lives and will be missed tremendously by her family and friends. While those she left behind are grieving her loss, we know she is rejoicing in Heaven, and is whole and healed again.
