He was born on May 13th, 1943, in Victoria, Texas where he spent his childhood, eventually graduating from Victoria High School. James spent his time hunting, fishing, woodworking and enjoying Western Movies. He qualified as a sharpshooter in the United States Marine Corp from 1962-1968. He also was awarded numerous awards for his salesmanship while he worked at Aramark.
On July 19, 1964, he married the love of his life, Helen Bostick Weaver. James lived his dream, when he and Helen purchased 33 acres of land in Segovia, Texas. He high fenced it and put a lot of exotic deer on it. He would have hunters, friends, and clients come out & almost have a guaranteed hunt. He enjoyed watching the deer roam from feeder to feeder on his land. He could even tell you the exact time they would start roaming and where they were going. His eyes would get so big from excitement. James & Helen would plan a week vacation with their best friends James & Polly Rab. They enjoyed fishing, beach combing and playing cards and dominoes. He also enjoyed having pets. He and his wife shared their love with their dogs Lassie, Judy, Velvet, Pee-Wee Rose, Chaka, Woody, and Bear. They also shared cats Snowball, Sam, Crip, Blackie, Bobo, Billy, and Blackie. Also, their bird Poncho and numerous fish they had.
For over 35 years, James was a Sales Manager for Aramark. He won numerous trips, vacations, and rings from his expertise. He was a NATURAL.
James was a wonderful highly respected husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. When he had something to say he would say it and tell you exactly how he felt about it, good or bad, which the family is pretty sure he got from watching all the John Wayne Westerns.
Through the last year of his life, he met Cheryl Caruthers. She meant a lot to him and has been by his side since Christmas Eve 2022. She has been a blessing to our family. She would take him to a lot of his doctors’ appointments, dialysis and chemo treatments. He would perk up when he talked about her. He was so very happy to have her in his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Weaver, His mother, Ruby Woods Weaver, his loving wife Helen Louise Weaver, his son David Lynn Weaver, and his sister Katie Jo Weaver.
