Harold F. Weddle, Jr., 86 peacefully passed away in Katy, Texas on Friday, January 22, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Harold was born in Galveston, Texas on October 7, 1934 to Harold and Edmee Weddle. He was a 1953 graduate of Lamar High School, Houston, Texas. On December 17, 1955 Harold married the love of his life, JoNelle Adams.
Harold is proceded in death by his father Harold F. Weddle and his mother Edmee Neal; his uncle
Neal McBride; his nephew Mark Weddle; and his granddaughter Kaycie Raymond.
Harold is survived by his adoring wife of 65 years, JoNelle Weddle; daughter Cindy and husband Kelly
Raymond; daughter Melinda and husband Gary Walker; sister Carolyn Whigham; brother John (Butch)
and wife Melinda Weddle; Sister-n-law Norma Jean and husband Lew Davis; grandsons Michael and
Peyton Knapp; granddaughter Haylie Raymond; grandson Carson, his wife Kira and great grandson
Mills Walker and grandson Chase Walker and numerous nieces and nephew.
Harold graduated with a BBA from the University of Houston in 1960 and began a lifelong career with
the railroad. He was employed with Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and BNSF railroads for more than
fifty years cultivating numerous lifelong friendships along his path. He was an avid golfer at the Hills of
Lakeway, and later served as Chairman Emeritus of the Senior Men's Golf at River Ridge Golf Club.
He was an active member of Second Baptist Church and was devoted to his Bible Study class and
volunteering his time with The Annual Angels of Light, The Brookwood Community and any of his
grandchildren's sporting events. That being said, oh how he loved his grandchildren, walking,
gardening, and golfing, golfing and more golfing. Did we mention golfing? Birdie, Birdie, Birdie
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the
employees of Sundance Memory Care, Katy who saw after Harold's needs for the past year and a half
and Fremont Hospice for their assistance in his last days. A special thank you and couldn't have done
it without you, goes to Tommy Arledge!
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway, in Houston, Texas. We will be observing distancing guidelines for family and friends and would love to have you join us in person, but if not possible please know the celebration of Harold's life will be live streamed at www.second.org/liveevents
