Born and raised in Texas, Gloria was a proud Texan and loved everything Texas; rodeo, country music, BBQ, Whataburger and all things Texas! Her Texas twang would put an instant smile on your face. She loved her Houston Astros and enjoyed watching the games and cheering them on, a loyal fan all of her life!
Gloria loved life and made the most of it! She enjoyed her daily trips to the stores to walk and browse and buy knickknacks for her home. She loved her little home, sitting 20 feet from her daughters back door, she was content, happy and secure. She loved the beach, dining out with her children and ultimately doing anything with her kids and grandkids.
She loved her children and grandchildren and centered her life around them! Gloria cared for many of her grandchildren through her life in place of daycare and until her final days still cared for 2 of her grandchildren daily, taking them to and from school and caring for them before and after. No one could take care of her grandbabies like she could so she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her “darlin’s,” her “little loves,” she would call them.
Gloria was so proud of her family; she spoke of them in ultimately every conversation. If she could have had them all in one place together at all times, she’d a been a happy camper! She would call, text and facetime her kids and grandkids daily. She’d become quite savvy with her phone technology and made full use of it to see and talk to her babies! A bond and relationship unique to each but a bond and relationship with all!
Gloria dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 29, 2008. Her confidence in the Bible’s promises that God will wipe out all the problems and suffering in the world moved her to share that hope with others, especially her family and friends. Gloria loved and looked forward to attending her Christian meetings, and was often the first to arrive at the kingdom hall. She trusted in Jehovah with all her heart and trusted in His promise of a resurrection when she would be reunited with her loved ones in perfect conditions. As a faithful servant of Jehovah God, she upheld her Christian beliefs until her death. In some of her final conversations she reminded her daughters of her favorite song, “just see yourself…” she said.
Gloria lived a full life in her 80 years and is survived by a huge family who love her dearly; 2 sisters, 1 brother, 8 children; Linda, Annette, Maryann, Janie, Cynthia, Ozzie, Gloria and Jamie; 3 sons-in-law, 1 daughter in law; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, who were her breath and life. She was the strongest mother they knew, raising all 8 of them into strong, successful adults all on her own! And it was all 8 of them by her side as she fell asleep.
We love and miss you mom, beyond words! Rest peacefully, we’ll see you when you wake up!
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all.
Your love and support are deeply appreciated.
