George met the love of his life, Vivian (Verrilli), at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, where they starred in the production of a play called Roshomon in Campus Thunder's theatre group. After retiring, George and Vivian decided to move from Connecticut to Richmond, Texas, where they purchased the house of their dreams and lived near their son and his growing family. In Texas, they met wonderful neighbors who became beloved friends and enjoyed being close to their grandchildren, Katherine (Derek) Vargas, Patrick and George Sepe and sharing many delicious family dinners together. George became active in the Waterside Estates community and enjoyed volunteering at Helping Hands, an organization that helped underprivileged families. He also enjoyed woodworking while Vivian complained about the endless saw dust being tracked into her immaculate home.
