Dorothy Jo (Crank) Dollahite passed away from natural causes on Aug 18, 2018. Dorothy was born Jul 26, 1931 to Walter Cecil and Isabell Crank in Canutillo TX. She grew up in the valley of El Paso and graduated from Ysleta HS in 1950. After high school, she attended Texas Women's and New Mexico State Universities, studying music.
Dorothy married Tom Dollahite in 1953, and they remained married for 65 years until Tom passed away in Jan 2018. She was a homemaker who held her family together through Tom’s Army career, including 17 moves and a year Tom was deployed to Viet Nam.
Dorothy was a superb cook and gifted artist and musician, but most of all was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She was a member of The Midland Women’s Club, Delta Gamma Sorority, Life Member of the Parent Teachers Ass’n, and a Hospice Volunteer.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; and her parents and sisters, Flora Belle Washam and Betty Appleby. She is survived by her children, Tom Dollahite, Jr. and Marlyss Jeffcoat; three Granddaughters and their Husbands; one Grandson; one Great Grandson; many beloved nieces and nephews; and an extended family of friends as big as the moon...
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled at Katy Funeral Home, Katy TX at 2pm on Sep 1. Dorothy will be interned with Tom at Ft Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso TX on Sep 4.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to The Christian Church of Midland, Midland TX.
