Charlie Juanita was born on Sunday, June 19, 1938 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was the daughter of Mildred Thelma (Rawlinson) and Charles Besswell “Charley” Pye. Charlie passed away resting peacefully at her home in Richmond, Texas on Sunday, May 2, 2021 alongside her family.
Charlie is survived by her daughters: Melinda A. Hebert, Sharon K. Ditch, Tina R. Wong, Rhonda S. Wiley and Step Son: George Edward Rash. Sons-in-Law: J. Christopher “Chris” Hebert and K. David Wiley. Grandchildren: Eric F. Hebert, Whitney A. Hebert, Dillon C. Ditch, Lance M. Ditch, Avery N. Wiley, and Candace C. Wiley. Pets: Calico Cat, Sunshine and Orange Tabby Cat, Little Bit.
Preceded in Death by: Husband, George Earl Rash (09/2015), Sister, Ramona O’Dell (12/1992), Daughter, Brenda Kayvonne Pettibon (01/2009) and Son-in-Law, Daniel Gene Pettibon (06/2008).
Charlie will be fondly remembered by the legacy she leaves behind as the energetic President of Heritage Plus Financial, Inc. which she founded in 1988 at the young age of 50. Charlie’s devotion to her financial business and dedication to her clients was unparalleled. She will be greatly missed as a consummate professional with an endearing concern for all her clients. Knowledgeable of ever-changing tax laws, Charlie had a friendly deposition to assist everyone who sought her expertise.
Charlie came from humble beginnings and through years of many different roles as a stay-at-home mom for 12 years with 5 daughters, to venturing as a single mother in employment with Gerland’s Food Fair. Through the many years in her position at Gerland’s, Charlie became well known in the community for her customer service excellence. Once departing Gerland’s after 15 years, Charlie went on to earn Series 6 and Series 63 Licenses along with other educational accomplishments. She attended North Harris County Community College in pursuit of her Accounting degree while employed by First Investors Financial Services, Inc. and H&R Block. Shortly thereafter, Charlie realized her dream by opening her own business: Heritage Plus Financial, Inc. on Jones Road and Grant Road.
For many years, Charlie was a devoted daughter, step-daughter, sister, wife, mother, step-mother, aunt, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Charlie leaves behind countless fond holiday and special occasion memories with her joyous flair of celebration, as well as lasting character building lessons and precious moments in daily life that reflect an amazing woman’s heartfelt dedication to her family.
The Memorial Service will be held at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, TX 77494 on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1:00pm-1:45pm and the catered Reception will follow from 2:00-4:00pm.
