Carolyn Edith Cheek, age 73, of Katy, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Carolyn was born July 20, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to Floy Verrell Franklin Harrington and Marion Abner Harrington.
Carolyn earned a bachelors degree in English from the University of South Alabama, a masters degree in English from the University of South Carolina and an education doctorate in psychology from the Vanderbilt College in London, England . She owned and operated Katy Counseling Service. In her younger days she worked as an English teacher. She had a very caring heart and served scores of people.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of over 49 years, Ralph Evans Cheek; brother Charles Harrington (Genie Harrington), sister-in-law Donna Looney (Buddy Looney) and sister-in-law Wanda Guidry; niece Jamie Harrington Rettie (Kenny Rettie), nephew Jody Harrington (Melody Harrington), nephew Jeremy Shayne Harrington, nephew John Gleason (Irene Gleason) and nephew Sion Charles Harrington.
Carolyn was preceded in death by father Marion Abner Harrington and mother Floy Verrell Franklin Harrington; sister Mildred Franklin Miller (Carlton Miller).
