Carol Gray Davis, passed away on August 3rd, 2024, in Katy, Texas. Born to Callie and Harvey Gray on December 29th, 1942, in Supply, North Carolina, Carol was an active member in several community organizations and her loyalty and selflessness were shown in her achievements and enthusiastic involvement through these organizations. She is and always will be beloved by her biological and extended family.
A graduate of New Hanover High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Carol was a passionate supporter for women in business. Carol dedicated her life to being an integral part of her community. She was a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. As a member of Toastmasters, she participated in public speaking and debate for more than 5 years. For 35 years, Carol belonged to American Business Women's Association and proudly served as President 4 different times of the Marbella Chapter in Wilmington, North Carolina. Throughout her membership she also served as Treasurer 6 times. Her commitment and dedication to her community did not go unnoticed and ABWA awarded Carol as Women of the Year 3 different times!
Outside of being a go-getter, Carol enjoyed creative activities. She loved to dance and sing. Making jewelry, crocheting, macrame, decoupaging, and sewing were all ways she was able to express her creative side.
Carol's love extended to her two children, Douglas Davis and Angela Davis, who remember her as a nurturing soul. Her children, daughter-in-law, Shelia Davis, granddaughter, Jennifer Wilburn, and all the people she touched will carry her legacy of kindness and joy.
Although there will not be a memorial since Carol's passing took place in Texas, Carol's life will be celebrated by sending her ashes to space. As a science fiction buff, this is a special way to honor Carol. As in life Carol was a shining star, so in death she will continue to be!
