Betty Anne Leach (Austin), passed away on May 11, 2015. Betty was born in Houston, Texas on May 25, 1935 to George Edgar Leach and Catherine L. Talley Leach. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Betty truly lived her Catholic Faith and by the Golden Rule. Betty attended St. Agnes Catholic Academy, was a model, loved playing tennis, singing while cooking for her family and friends and enjoyed regular overnight stays with all her daughters. She dreamed of being a homemaker and mother. Upon her marriage to Fredwric Joseph Sprague, they bought a house in Spring Branch ISD in order to provide a home and the best possible education for their children. Later, Betty worked in sales for Woolco and Palais Royal. Betty’s love was always shown for her family, faith, friends, neighbors, co-workers and even those new in her life. Betty will be missed by all and will be watching over every one of us.
Betty is survived by her children and their families. Her children are Mark Douglas Sprague (His son Matthew Justin Sprague), Cynthia Leigh Cook (Her stepson Ryan Cook), Mary Lynn Featherston (Her husband Steven Featherston, children Mark Lawrence Jr. [wife Wendy], Rachel Johnson [husband Phillip] and Amanda Barber) and Catherine A. Bourg (Her son Charlie and wife Stephanie). Betty was a Grand Mother to five and Great Grand Mother to eleven (Chelsea, Cole, Clayton, Casey, Caydee, Camdyn, Madison, Shelbey, Rylan, Patrick and Olivia) and has a Great Great Grandchild (Isaiah) waiting birth. Betty also has a surviving sister Barbara Lynne Lee (Husband Jack Lee and their two children John Andrew Lee, (His children Austin Andrew Lee and Jacob Ryan Lee) and Christopher Alan Lee (His wife Lori and children Corey, Tyler and Hannah).
A viewing will take place from 3:00pm-6:00pm and then a Rosary from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Katy Funeral Home located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd., Katy Texas, just West of 99. On Monday, May 18, 2015 a memorial Mass will take place at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church located at 1530 Norwalk Drive, Katy, Texas between Fry Rd and Mason Rd off Highland Knolls Blvd at 11:00am. A procession will immediately follow to a gravesite service held at Forest Park Cemetery off Lawndale St. in Houston, Texas.
