Benjamin Allen Patrick

Allen was born September 13, 1965 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Benjamin Powell and Darlene Patrick. Allen attended Valley High School where he played basketball and participated in track and field. He was an all-around athletic superstar. Allen attended George Washington University on a scholarship to play basketball in DC.

After leaving college, Allen went back to New Kensington where he later got clean and became a true solider in Narcotics Anonymous. Allen was very involved in service within NA and was a shining example that “Service is a Posture of the Heart” with over 21 years clean. Allen loved to travel the world and was very adventurous. In his down time, Allen enjoyed playing games such as sudoku and loved watching Jeopardy while playing along, appealing to his highly competitive nature. Allen enjoyed listening to music including anything from Wu-Tang Clan and Jill Scott to a Tribe Called Quest; his favorite singer was Sade. Allen was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, which is the only time you would actually hear him raise his voice. He bled black and gold.

Allen was preceded in death by his father Benjamin F. Powell, his niece Latasha Johnson, his nephew Michael Coover, his grandmother Gloria "Nanny" Patrick, and his cousin Seqourri Smith.

Allen is survived by his life partner Kamie Hubbard, his mother Darlene Patrick Moore (William), children, Tiffany, Deja, and George, his grandchildren, Ella and Joshua Allen, his siblings, Bridget Jones, Yvette Snyder (Terry), Talmadge "TJ" Johnson, Leann Johnson, his very special Aunt Grace Wade and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for Allen will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494. A cremation will occur. Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, social distancing measures will be in place and the Celebration and Life is by invite only. We also ask that you please wear a face mask at all times for the health and safety of our guests.
