Anthony was born on April 23, 1952 in Toisan, China to Bing C Kwong and Mei Kwong. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances Fun Kwong. They married in Houston, Texas on December 21st, 1985. He is survived by his three sons, David, Joshua, and Daniel Kwong; His sister Kathy Fong, and two younger brother’s Raymond and Harvey Kwong.
He moved from Toisan to Hong Kong while he was very young and was raised there. He immigrated along with his family to Phoenix, Arizona and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in engineering from ASU in 1975. After his studies in Tempe, he moved to Houston, TX for a job at Coastal States which started a career at many companies such as, Bechtel, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Compaq Computer and etc.
During his career, he was able to study while working full time, and obtain a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Houston. In 2000, he was able to successful obtain his Texas Professional Engineering License which allowed him to begin his over 20-year career at the City of Houston in their Waste Water Division.
Anthony found great pleasure in engaging in conversations about the stock market and engineering subjects. His remarkable memory allowed him to recall detailed concepts he had learned many decades prior. In his leisure time, he entertained himself by playing both the accordion and harmonica within his home. He also had a particular affinity for historical Chinese films and TV shows, specifically those centered around the Chinese Civil War and World War II, which captivated his interest. Anthony cherished spending quality time with his wife and children, often taking strolls together at the park. His love for them was deep.
Anthony was also a long-time member of West Houston Chinese Church. He enjoyed going to church and socializing with his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was very active in fellowships and found comfort in attending even during difficult times.
Anthony was a wonderful, loving father, husband, brother and uncle. He was a friend and mentor to many throughout his life. He will be loved and missed by his family and his church community.
