Winifred M. Bielak, 93, of Raytown, MO, passed away April 20, 2018, at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, MO. She was born November 30, 1924, the daughter of Herman A. Potter and Ethel (Dutton) Potter of Highland, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John J. Bielak, Jr. (known as John the Barber), her brother, Joe (Betty), and her sisters Mary (Gene) Meers and Harriett (Richard) Oakley.
After high school, Winifred attended business school in Kansas City, MO, and worked for Dodson Insurance Group for several years. She married in 1948, raised three sons and later worked as a stenographer at Burns & McDonald Engineering where she spent over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Blue Ridge Methodist Church in Raytown and was an active member of the United Methodist Women and The Golden Key Club. Her loves included reading, baking, bowling and her grandchildren.
Winifred is survived by her sons, John (Sheila) of Merriam, KS, Edward of Kansas City, MO, David (Louisa) of Scottsdale AZ, and daughter-in-law, Lisa, of Lee's Summit, MO; five grandchildren, Jenny (Brett) Lentz, Justin (Brittany), Sean (Noelle), Kelli (Josh) Rodabough, and Kristin; three great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Benjamin Lentz and Kynlee Rodabough; and several nieces and nephews.
