Almost a year has gone by since Dad left for his new Permanent Duty Station. We think of you every day, and still miss you very much. One has only to look at the wonderful family of Watsons to realize this man, and his wife, left a  truly outstanding legacy. love, Julie Watson

I am so sorry to find out about Bills passing. I first met him and Fran at CV. I was calling him today to wish him a Happy Anniversary... I know he and Fran are dancing today and eating chocolate strawberries... May you all find peace in your memories...He was one grand man...the gentle giant. Everytime I came back to KC I would visit him. He made an impact on all of my family. My son met him when he was a freshman in high school. He interviewed Bill and became fast friends. My Son is currently serving in the Air Force but attends college in his off time. This fall he called to read me a speach that he had given about Bill. I know he is in a better place.... Till we meet again carry on soldier....

There are the legends that men make movies about, then there are legends where no movie could serve the tales justice. My Grandfather is one such legend. Entire legacies of families were born from his conquests in life, to include our own family. Generations of men, women, and children unaware that they may have never been, were it not for this man. 

I've bragged about my Grandfather to friends, family, and my brothers in arms to nearly tall tale status. He was my hero, I could only hope to be a fraction of the man Bill was in his time. I've always looked up to the Major, now I just have to look up a little higher. Rest in peace sir. You've earned it. All the way!

I had the privilege of being part of Bills life for the past 7 months. My office is in the Assisted Living community at Foxwood.  His presence brightened my day.  There is something missing here Bill…you! Your are missed…gone but not forgotten!

I knew Major Watson in his last couple years. I often came across him at Foxwood Springs and he always had a smile. I listened to his stories of his military experiences and admired him for his service.

My kids and I loved to go and visit Maj. Watson at his home in Foxwood Springs.  My kids thought he was very funny.  I enjoyed sitting with him and hearing his wonderful stories.

Recently, I had the pleasure of honoring him at our school Veteran's Day assembly as our Distinguished Veteran guest.  
My kids and I and the kids and staff of Creekmoor Elementary will miss Maj. Watson.  I am so sorry for our earthly loss but heaven has a wonderful new angel!

Bill was an amazing man!  I've only known him a few short years.  He was ALWAYS happy and rolled through the halls of Foxwood Springs singing in his deep, beautiful voice and spreading smiles as he went.  We were honored to have a part in his celebration with Creekmoor Elementary in November for Veteran's Day and the kids just had the best time as did he.  He will certainly be missed by all the residents and staff at Foxwood and his visits and cheerful spirit were a testimony of how dear he was.  My condolences to his family, how fortunate you were to have him in your family and his love for these past years.  We can all learn from his bravery and positive attitude.  I'm thankful he crossed the path of my life if even for such a short time.

I am grateful for the life of Major Watson.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

My grandfather was an amazing man. He was strong, heroic, loving, generous, and kind. I only wish we had been able to have him and our grandmother in our lives more. He may have been miles away, but he was in our hearts every single day. He will be missed greatly by his far-away granddaughters.

I Love you Grandpa and will miss you very much.  Despite living so far away from you I always felt so connected to you.  I loved our visits and your amazing stories.  My whole life I described you as a hero and loved to brag about the amazing person that was my grandpa.  I love you and grandma both and believe that you will always watch over me, and likely play a few pranks ;)

Jim, Cindy and the other brothers and sister your father was a true HERO, always had a laugh and a beautiful smile. Such memories growing up at the Watsons...

Dear Mike and Kate and girls, so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is never easy but memories ease that pain a little bit. We are sorry for your loss.

Grandpa you are by far the bravest man ever but you were truly the biggest teddy bear when it came to your grandchildren!  It breaks my heart to not be there Friday but I will be thinking of you. So happy to think of you and Grandma reunited again.  We love you so much!  Love Shelly & Nicholas

To Cindy and the other kids....I will truly miss your Dad.  He helped my Mother Edie & myself make the adjustments to assisted living. I asked him to "show her the ropes" and he did. I will miss giving him a kiss whenever I was there to see my mom. Such a interesting man to talk to. My deepest sympathy to his family...he will be missed.

I will always remember the first day you took my Grandson for a ride on your scooter. The good times we had with you and Fran when we were neighbors at Carnegie Village. Sorry James did not get over to see you at Foxwood. You and Fran were like old time friends used to be. Hope to see you both again in heaven so we can celebrate. Nadine,Pattie & James

Ret Major Bill Watson was a very dear friend of mine.  I enjoyed the many hours we visited.  I will always remember the stories I was previleged enough to hear.  He was an inspiration to so many in such difficult times.  

Thank you Bill for your devoted service to our country and I promise you will never be forgotten.

Major Watson, was a good friend of mine!  He always had words of wise counsel and encouragement.  His efforts to be a positive influence to all he interacted with, was an outstanding quality of his.
