William Charles “George” Washington, Jr., 76, passed March 20, 2015 at Ashton Court following a long battle with Lewy’s Body Disease. Memorial services are 2:30 PM Saturday, March 28th, with visitation from 2-4 PM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. Contributions are suggested to assist family with final expenses.
Bill was born July 19, 1938 in Omaha, NE. In Omaha, he was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club (old car club) and had served as their secretary and treasurer. Bill was a huge fan of Nascar Racing especially following Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. In Omaha he worked for the Sunset Race Track. Bill moved to Kansas City to marry the love of his life, Marie Holt, on November 21, 1992. They had met at Baer Supply Company where Bill was a top salesman for many years before retiring in 2007. Bill was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and former member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles and Theresa Washington, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Holt Washington; 4 step-children, Richard Butler and wife, Rosie, Eddie Butler, Susann Butler-Goodson, and Anthony Holt; 6 grandchildren, Josh Butler, Travis Butler, Christopher Holt, Serin Butler, Lilly Butler and Jack Butler; and 9 great grandchildren, Christian Shaffer, Brayden Butler, Drake Butler, Blake Butler, Darian Butler, Rivey Butler, Eva Holt, Emma Butler, and Bella Butler.
