Missy, Cindy, and Mark. Your father was an inspiration to me as a young man. I am sorry that he is gone, but the lessons he shared regarding work and life have influenced me as the husband and father that I have become. Bill was, and remains, a good soul.

I had a long history with the McKee family. Barb and I went to high school and KU together  After we were both married, Barb and Bill and Dick and I lived next door in Grandview for awhile.  We moved to Tulsa, but kept in touch with Bill and Barb. They raised a wonderful family and I am grateful to have spent good time with them.  My love to Mark, Missy and Cindy and their families.

Barbie, Mark, Missy, Cindy and Family,

So blessed to have been part of the ups and downs in this wonderful family for...can it be, 41 years.  William, as I came to always call him, differing to the elder Bill, was a man of patience and that served him well in many situations.

I have "chosen" to believe his prayer was answered forthright in his death.  He watched his father, mother, in-laws to a degree, and both brothers trail off live the last years of their life not as themselves, one can only imagine William's prayer discussions on this matter and he was saved this path in the end.  So it bears great emotional toil on all left here, but for him what a great reward!

We love you, we hurt with you and we rejoice with you!!

It's difficult to put into words the gentle kindness of Bill McKee. He and Barb always treated us young hooligans like we were their own sons (perhaps not a stretch). Quick to engage and inquire about life, Bill had the warmest smile and offered a kind word nearly every time you'd see him. He genuinely cared. Bill was not shy but had an aura of quiet, confident calmness that was truly comforting and endearing. When he laughed his whole face lit up, and those around him couldn't help but join in. He lived a full life and his family meant everything to him. Among everything else, that was perhaps his greatest legacy. He doted on his wife, Barb, and the two of them raised three solid children who are among some of the best people I know. Bill's grandchildren, children, in-laws, the rest of his family, and those of us who had the honor to know him are blessed to have had his influence. I will miss my friend Bill, a man I've known for nearly 40 years. But I count myself fortunate that our lives intertwined in a meaningful way. He demonstrated how to live a life of love. Godspeed, Bill.
