William W. Hunt, 75, of Prairie Village, Kansas, died on March 26, 2010. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Village Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Pinecrest Cemetery, Mena, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 29 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel. The family request contributions to Rhodes College, 2000 N. Parkway, Memphis, TN 38112.
Bill was born on October 10, 1934 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to William T. and Marjorie (Witherspoon) Hunt. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Chanute, KS High School, and graduated from Southwestern in Memphis (now Rhodes College) with a degree in English. He worked as a designer at Hallmark Cards for 39 years. Bill was an international traveler, connoisseur of the arts (particularly movies), and loved to cook. He was an avid gardener, a member of Village Presbyterian Church, and an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Betsy Hunt Lanning. His survivors include his brother, John Hunt and his wife, Lois, their children, Jon and Lindsay; and Betsy’s children, David Lanning, Andy Lanning, and Lucy Lanning and their families.
