William “Will” Allen Hicks III, 37, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Will was born September 25, 1982 in Kansas City, Missouri to William Allen Hicks Jr. and Kimberly Hicks (Clifford). He was employed as a Machinist throughout the Kansas City area.
Will was an avid Kansas City sports fan and some of the most exciting times were him able to witness the Royals and Chiefs become world champions.
Will was preceded in death by his father William Hicks Jr and stepfather; whom he called “dad” Steven Clifford.
Will grew up in Raytown, MO and was active in scouting throughout his youth. Scouting was where Will found his second family and forged relationships that would last throughout his life. He was a member of Troop 341 and earned his Eagle Scout. He shared his love of scouting with his dad, brother, and the community as a Mic-O-Say dancer.
One of his favorite hobbies was playing darts with his friends and family. He was happy to show off his dart skills and hustle you out of a dollar. But most importantly he played to be surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his mother Kimberly Clifford, his son Ben Piatt, brother Ray Clifford and sister Stephanie Bowen of Raytown, and many other aunts, uncles, friends and family.
There will be a visitation to pay respects on Tuesday, March 3rd from 5:00-7:00pm and a celebration of life Wednesday, March 4th at 1:00pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
