Kay was born in Fulton, KS. She was the daughter of Elven Roe and Ellen (Hudson) Provence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Curtis Duffield, daughters, Alesia Thorp and Christina Wood, three brothers, and one sister.
Kay is survived by her son, Tim Duffield and wife, Gail, Dana Carter and husband, Brook, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters, Glenda Humphrey and Kathy Vechnak, and extended family.
Kay had a lifelong career managing hotels and then went on to Emery Worldwide where she retired from. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her many jokes. She loved a good western, playing cards and never passed up an opportunity to go shopping. Kay loved to make people laugh, was a great listener, and was always there for anyone who needed her.
A Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at Mount Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home & Cemetery. Located at: 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
