Walter E. Knapp Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Eugene Knapp, Jr. announce his passing on August 11, 2019. He was surrounded by his family at home after battling ALS for many years. Walter was born October 21, 1955 to Maxine and Walter Knapp, Sr. of Springfield, MO. He was a baptized Christian. Walter graduated from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO. He obtained his Pharmacy degree from UMKC in Kansas City, MO. Walter also continued his education obtaining a PharmD from Kansas University.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathy (Wolfgeher) Knapp; two children Daniel Knapp and Alexa Knapp (Sarah). He is also survived by his father, older sister Charlotte and four younger brothers - Sam, Tim, David (Patty) and Dan. Walter was preceded in death by his mother.

He will always be forever remembered by his extended family, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Walter was a Clinical Pharmacist at Shawnee Mission Hospital for 37 years. He loved his work family and was proud of his Pharmacy kids. He supported his wife in her love of her 69 Camaro and was a long time member of the Camaro Club of Kansas City. Walter was a proud owner of a 1970 Chevelle and was an active member for many years in the Mid-America Chevelle Club.

Visitation will be 6-8pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at McGilley Sheil Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
