Vonda L. Brooks, 92, passed away at home, Saturday, November 30, 2019. Vonda was born in Walnut Grove, MO, to Cas W. and Josephine Hagerman Smith. She was number six of eight children.

In April, 1947, Vonda married Forrest A. Brooks of Goodson, MO. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage until his passing in May, 2008.

Vonda began her carrier as an educator at the age of sixteen in a one room schoolhouse. She continued teaching into her seventies retiring from the Kansas City School District.

Vonda is survived by her daughter Cindy Brooks-Acock, son-in-law Terry Acock; grandchildren Andrea Rock, Jacob Rock, Amanda Rock-Jones and her husband Steven Jones, Jr.; great-grandchildren Hunter Leslie, Phebe Jones; two sister-in-laws, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family suggests contributions to St. Luke's Home Care and Hospice.
