Vivian L. Davidson, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend, born October 20, 1918 in Stanberry, Missouri, died at Lakeview Village, Lenexa KS on January 29, 2021.
Wife of Forrest E. (Dave) Davidson (Deceased). Vivian was a longtime resident of Overland Park, Prairie Village, and Lakeview Village in Lenexa, KS. She is survived by son Gary E. Walton and wife Jane, three grandchildren, John Kurk Walton and wife Mary, Michael Craig Walton, and wife Laneigh, and Matthew Jeb Walton and wife Paige; eight great-grandchildren Ashley Walton, Austin Walton; Jake Walton, Mckenna Walton, Ella Walton; Andrew Walton and wife Erin, Elizabeth Walton, and Cydney Walton and two great-great-grandchildren, Robert Nash Fenzel and Raleigh Walton, and sister, Eloree Baldwin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vivian was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas City. She contributed to her community extensively through her volunteer activities as an election volunteer and helping people to learn to read through the literacy program. She contributed financially and supported the goal and purpose of City Union Mission. A major highlight of her life was in having her family gathered from across the country, at one time, to help her celebrate her 100th birthday.
Vivian experienced many advances in science and technology during her 102 years of life and adapted to changes easily. Her favorite pastimes were reading about history, playing bridge, working crossword puzzles, and playing computer games. She traveled extensively with her second husband Dave and lived in Nigeria, Africa several years while her husband worked for the US Government in developing micro-wave communications in that country. She was an exceptional bridge player and was a devoted Royals baseball fan.
Vivian was, and her family is, incredibly grateful to the care she received from the nurses and staff at Lakeview Village and the Elera Caring hospice doctor, nurses, and staff over the past year and during the last days of her life. Public graveside services on Thursday, February 4th at 2:00 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. Chaplain Beck Schubert of Elera Caring Hospice will officiate at the interment.
