Vito was born April 9, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Vincent and Michalena (Barbieri) Como. He was a graduate of De La Salle High School, Class of 1965 and later received an Associate Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. In 1968, he married Barbara Brown and they enjoyed 53 years together.
Vito was an Eagle Scout and a Hardway Warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He worked as a salesman for Pisciotta Foods and Lady Baltimore Food Distributor. After retiring, he enjoyed gambling and traveling but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Vito was preceded in death by his parents Vince and Mickey; his brother, Leonard (Patricia); and sister Mary Beth (Lance) Huitt.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Christopher (Marcie) and Charles (Rebecca); sister, Ursula Riker (Dave); brother, Vincent Como (Annette); and four amazing grandchildren, Patrick, Arwen, Kathlyn and Kaylie Como; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in the spring. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or your charity of choice.
