Vicki G. Berry

She was born to MSGT James G. Russell and Margaret (Cates) Russell at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. She was proud to be an “Air Force brat” to a three-war veteran father and would tell anybody that would listen.

Vicki was a graduate of Belton High School. In Vicki’s career life she had two careers of which she was most proud. In her young career life, she was a Payroll Clerk for the Federal Government with the General Services Administration (GSA.) Later, she changed careers and became a Plant Operator for the City of Kansas City Missouri Water Department. When she started that job she had no idea about water treatment, but studied hard and progressed her way up to a “B” license before she retired in 2005.

Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved her family and friends with all she had and would do anything in her power for them.

When she was physically able, she loved softball, bowling and playing darts. As her health declined and was unable to participate, she became the world’s best cheerleader. She never missed a game or a dance recital of her children and grandchildren. She loved watching the Chiefs, Royals, Crimson Tide, and Kentucky Wildcats. Vicki was often heard yelling Go BIG Blue and ROLL TIDE!

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

She is survived by her son Jim Berry (April), her daughter Jami Davenport (Tony), her brother Jim Russell II, her sister Willa Russell, her five wonderful grandchildren Jaclyn, Katie and Lauryn Berry and Dawson and Ashlynn Davenport, her nephews Brad and Mike Russell, and an abundance of other family and friends.

Her celebration of life will be at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64133.

A visitation will take place Monday, October 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Followed by a memorial service Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM. And concluding with a graveside service at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
