My condolences to the family of Vern.  I worked with him several times at KCPD and later when he was with Independence PD.  Vern was one of the best Detectives that I knew and a good friend.  He was always available to discuss any cases or to ask for advice.  He was a definite credit to law enforcement.  I know you will miss him and everyone who knew him will also miss him. So sorry to hear of Dean's passing.  We always loved to visit with him at family gathering.  His work related stories were always so interesting. He will be missed.
