Vera Murillo

Elvira “Vera” Murillo, 91 of Kansas City, MO was called by the Lord God to be reunited with family in Heaven on October 18, 2017. Vera was born March 16, 1926 to Jose Jesus Murillo and Maria Belen Castaneda in Emporia, KS. Vera attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Emporia High School and graduated from Argentine High School in 1945. Vera worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the ICU for 44 years, retiring in 1991. Vera was a member of Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Guadalupanas Society and Co-Redemptorist.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Belen; five sisters Maria Guadalupe, Candida, Eleanor, Theresa and Josefina and three brothers Juan, Andres (Henry) and Fernando. Vera is survived by her sisters Dolores (Ramon), Mary, Carmen, Rosario and Gloria; her brothers Andres, Jr. (Marcy), Thomas (Patricia) and Roberto (Debbie). She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Lily and Janet Murillo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 28 at Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison, KCMO at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK. Visitation will be 6-8 p, Friday at McGilley Memorial Chapel-Midtown, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., KCMO, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm. The family request contribution to Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
