He was born on June 21, 1956 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to his parents, Robert and Eleanor Seddon. Tom was the second child and only son with four sisters: Judy, Patti, Kathy, and Robin. Tom was a 1974 graduate of Raytown South High School and graduate of Longview Community College. He was employed by Smith Brothers Hardware in Raytown for 40+ years and retired in 2021 as the store manager of the Raymore location. Tom lived his life for his family. He was a devoted son and a best friend to his sisters, and the ultimate family man. Tom loved to travel with his family to places like Scottsdale, Boston, Nashville, Grand Canyon, Chicago, and hiking in the Smoky Mountains and scuba diving in Florida. He enjoyed the simple things in life: visiting his mom multiple times a week, participating in family gatherings, kayaking, staying in shape, collecting coins, creating amazing pieces in his wood shop, helping friends and family in times of need, or simply listening to music and taking in life. Tom will be fondly remembered as the Seddon who defined “family first.” Tom was a humble, kind man and will continue to help people through Midwest organ donors.
