Thomas E. Donaldson

Thomas “TD” Donaldson, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday June 18, 2012. Friends may call on Thursday, June 21st at McGilley State Line Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 8:00 p.m.

TD was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Edward. He is survived by his wife Georganne; daughter Hilary Donaldson and her husband, Bob Giovannini; brother Larry Donaldson and wife Kip as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.

TD was born June 10, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to John and Bertha Donaldson. He graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1950; he then served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. Upon returning home he attended CMSU and graduated with a BA degree in Business. In 1966 he married Georganne Hill and on June 20, 1970 their daughter Hilary Anne was born. TD enjoyed the majority of his working years at CIT Corp. then continued his career as a commercial loan officer in Kansas City. After retirement he and his wife owned and operated Balloon-O-Gram, a balloon bouquet delivery and decorating service. As Georganne’s “delivery man”, TD truly adored seeing the smiles on the faces of the happy recipients.

Rounds of golf, hitting balls in the backyard or attending “Meeting Day” with his Redemptorist buddies were some of his favorite pastimes as well as sharing stories with friends and family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 30th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clifton Hill United Methodist Church in Clifton Hill, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS, 66208 or the MO Veteran’s Home – Cameron, 1111 Euclid, Cameron, MO, 64429.
