Sudie Marie Salyer, born August 4, 1925 in Plattsburg, MO to Robert Preston and Tempie (Black) Miller, passed on August 15, 2014 at 10:24 AM CDT after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, August 22nd, with a service at 11:30 AM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; burial will follow at 12:30 PM in White Chapel Cemetery.
Sue was the ninth of ten children. She was a 1943 graduate of North Kansas City High School. She married Gordon M. Salyer in 1946 and they had two sons, Greg (1947) and Keith (1953). Sue worked off and on for many years at Grolier Encyclopedia. She was a faithful member of Winnwood Baptist church for nearly 50 years.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Lou (Alton) Blair; her two sons, Greg (Cindy) Salyer and Keith (Ann) Salyer; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
