Stuart McCaskill went very peacefully to be with the Lord on October 2, 2022 as the result of a heart failure condition. He was 65 years old, born July 12, 1957 in Madison, Wisconsin. He spent his childhood years in Arena, Wisconsin.
Stuart was a longtime member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone, MO and was widely known as an encourager - a kind, tenderhearted, compassionate man who loved others more than himself. Stuart did everything possible to encourage others, hear their stories, and share the deep love of Jesus in the moment, every moment, anywhere he was. His bold affirmations and gentle exhortations will be deeply missed. He served in the AWANA program and taught two adult bible classes for many years.
Stuart had a robust 38-year career in the healthcare information technology field in eastern Wisconsin and in Kansas City metro area. Stuart’s experience primarily focused on payroll and human resources, and he served as an IT Director for 16 years of his career. When he was diagnosed with a terminal heart failure condition, Stuart went on long-term disability in November 2021.
For over 50 years, Stuart has enjoyed a wide variety of fun hobbies focused around restoration and preservation of a wide variety of pump organs, cob roller organs, victrolas, clocks, and radios. Stuart enjoyed the challenge of this work and loved to learn about the history and technology of years past. He is estimated to have restored 150 pump organs and helped countless owners and restorers understand their instrument. Through his various hobbies, Stuart made friends from around the world with fellow restorers. Above all of his hobbies, Stuart prioritized time with his family and friends.
In Stuart’s own words: God is always good, no matter what He sends our way. It is a great honor to be one of His children. We will all drink the cups we are given to drink and pray that He gives us the grace to end well and to honor Him.
Stuart is preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah, and is survived by his wife Patricia, his son Alex, who is a geotechnical engineer, his sisters Sandy and Sherry, and his brothers Mike and Bill.
A memorial visitation for Stuart will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone, Missouri 64118, followed by a memorial service from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
