After High School Steve enlisted with the United States Marine corps where he served in the Vietnam war. While stationed in Nam Phong he learned about electronics. After his discharge he began working for Wurlitzer, repairing organs. It was there he found his passion for organ repair. He went on to start his own business Santee's Organ Service. He loved helping out local churches and musicians with their organs and did this service for over 35 years in Kansas City Missouri and surrounding areas. He was lovingly known as The Organ Man.
Steve was an avid gardener, who loved to fish, play chess, and he was a talented carpenter. He led a life of servitude not only to his country but his family, friends, churches and community.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Matilda, his brothers Lee and Greg, and sons Chuck and Beau.
He is survived by wife Judy, sisters Julia and Glenita, Brothers Earl and Keith, children Jason, Kari Jo, and Deana, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
