Steven Logan Sage, 62, Liberty, MO, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2017 surrounded by family. Visitation: 9:00- 11:00 AM, Funeral at 11:00 AM Monday, May 15th at Antioch Community Church, 4805 NE Antioch Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Steve was born June 13, 1954 in Great Falls, MT and moved to the Kansas City area at the age of 10. He met his very best long-time friend, Steve Hogue, on the first day of school. He graduated in the first senior class at Winnetonka High School in 1972. Steve worked for Columbian Steel Tank Company which inspired him to begin a professional career in computer science. He worked for Western Auto Supply Company as an IT operations manager and met the love of his life, Karen Landes. He left the company so they could start dating. Steve then worked for United Telephone Company (later Sprint) where he became Chief Technologist. Steve and Karen married June 2, 1984 and were married 32 years and 11 months. He left Sprint and became a road warrior for OSG Corp, traveling to many cities and countries to provide IT consulting services, retiring in 2016.
Steve was strong in his faith, had a personal relationship with Jesus and knew where he was going. Making sure his children and grandchildren knew Jesus was of utmost importance to him. Steve had many passions, especially his family and grandchildren. He was a “cowboy poet”, a horseman, a rancher and baseball encyclopedia. He coached for over 20 years many soccer, baseball, fast-pitch softball and basketball teams. He wasn’t afraid of taking on new challenges and encouraged the entire family to follow their own passions. No words can describe his brilliant mind and wonderful sense of humor. He had many debates with family and friends. Even when being a stern counselor it was done out of great love for the person. Steve loved going to auctions and “raising his hand”. Even when faced with his cancer diagnosis, he helped everyone else through the disease. His great generosity and selflessness will be cherished by everyone who knew him.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd in 2008; brother, Lloyd, Jr in 1955; and sister, Angela in 1991.

He was a great two-strike hitter, and now he’s feeling good, throwing the ball real good and helping God’s team. “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21)
