He leaves his wife of 46 years, Debra Baltzell; and his sons, Brian Baltzell with his wife Sarah and Mark Baltzell; his brothers William Baltzell and Jan Baltzell with his wife Kathy; a grandchild; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Margaret Baltzell and Father, Purcell Baltzell; and his sister, Dixie Matthews.
Raised in East Moline, Illinois, he had the opportunity to live in many places across the country before settling in Kansas City.
His mechanical aptitude lead to a career of designing a variety of machines, equipment and structures including tractors, pumps, grinding machines and geodesic domes.
Steve’s great love of music, traveling, and his family added pleasure to his life.
A service at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, KC MO, will be held Monday, June 19th, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. which will include music, readings and prayers.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, at 10:00 A.M. at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freemen Funeral Home at 10507 Holmes Road, KC MO.
