Ralph Stephen Holland, 81, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Immediately following will be a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
Steve and Dolores (Rosner) Holland, were married at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Church on September 15, 1951 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011.
Steve was founder and president of Holland Corporation, served as president of the National Asphalt Association, and board member of the National Limestone Association. Steve volunteered as a community leader serving as president of Johnson County Jaycees. Dolores and Steve enjoyed the winters they spent in Palm Desert, CA, where they were members of Iron Wood Country Club. They also enjoyed golfing at Milburn Country Club in Overland Park. Steve was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 45 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong supporter of the Catholic Charities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Catholic Charities, 9720 W 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; eight children, Rick (Julia), Ed (Betsy), Karen (Ric) Winchester, Francie (Keith) Baska, John, Kathleen (Jim) Kennedy, Sondra Loyd, and Steve III (Stacy); 25 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
