Shirley B. Donnelly

Shirley Jean Burkhart Donnelly, age 79, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away the 22nd of March, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am March 29th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 West 71st Street, Overland Park, Kansas, 66204, burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on March 28th at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131, with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm.

Shirley Donnelly was born on August 9, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1949 and married in 1953. She was a homemaker and raised six children and was a parishioner of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Susan Burkhart. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Q. Donnelly, her six children, Susan Donnelly Bushey, Ann Donnelly Hinemeyer, Lori Donnelly Martin, Robert Q. Donnelly, Jr., Richard Joseph Donnelly and David Christopher Donnelly, her three siblings, William Burkhart, Helen Burkhart Fetters and Melvin Burkhart. She was “Mama” to 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She loved her morning coffee, her KU Jayhawks and good conversation. She will forever be remembered as ever so classy, impeccably dressed, hilarious, incredible, adorable and always with a smile and a kiss to offer. Condolences may be made at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
