Sharon Kay McInerney, 67, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 22nd, 10:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2 East 75th Street, Kansas City, MO, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21st at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Sharon was born in Wichita, KS and grew up in Cottonwood Falls, KS with parents Walter and Helen Kline. After high school graduation, she left Cottonwood Falls and moved to Wichita and then finally landed in Kansas City. She worked for many years at The Kansas City Women’s Clinic and developed a strong family of life-long friends while there. She eventually started her own company, Plaza Personnel. In 2004, her company was one of the recipients of “25 Under 25” Award from the Small Business Monthly.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jackie and husband Phil. She leaves behind a brother, Bob of Cottonwood Falls; five boys, Todd and Kelly Hunter of San Clemente, CA; Bryan and Amy Hunter of Leawood, KS, Pat and Michele McInerney and Kevin McInerney of Kansas City, MO, and Brian and Lara McInerney of Bonner Springs, KS; she also leaves behind ten loving grandchildren whom she loved dearly and a large group of friends.
