Sorry for the order on this website for reading Sabrina's Eulogy for her daddy.  Scroll down to see where it starts, then scroll up for the next section and again up for the last part.  I was not able to get this fixed.  She was very emotional at the funeral so I wanted to be sure everyone was able to read what she was saying and for others to read how much her daddy was loved and admired.  I was so proud of her for wanting to write his Eulogy and read it for his funeral. 

Eulogy Cont. 
“He was such a wonderful brother, son, husband, father, son-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend.  I just cannot express how much we will miss him.  He was many things to many people.  He was an incredible and very cool brother.  He was affectionate, fun, fearless, energetic, athletic, competitive, bold, driven, loved a challenge, and was always there for us.”
“The family was very important to Scott.  He was truly a family man.  He shows that through his generosity, hosting of many family gatherings, cooking many things like his softball sized meatballs, and making sure we were having a good time.  Those Sundays at Scott and Angela’s house at the pool were a blast.  Scott enjoyed the close and affectionate relationship he had with his mother-in-law Lola.  She and Candace were apart of those family gatherings we all enjoyed.  Scott so much admired and appreciated his father-in-law Gary and his advice.  He worked so hard and was determined and motivated to be successful and had the perseverance to achieve his goals.  He ultimately became a very successful businessman in the reinsurance industry.”
“Scott was an outstanding son; he spoke to his parents every day.  He had them over all the time or visited them at their house.  He took them on trips with his family.  He saw to it that they were very close.”
“Scott’s passions were spending time with family, cooking up world class meals for family and friends, driving the latest and greatest sports cars and motorcycles while always looking dapper in a style all his own.”
“Somehow in his 52 years on Earth, Scott was able to squeeze in over 100 years of experiences with his love of life in his family, career and entertaining”
I want to leave a message, that I hope will impact you.  If you love someone always tell them.  After every phone call, tell them you love them.    Always, always, tell the people you care about that you love them because you never know what could happen.

Sabrina's Eulogy Cont.
My dad is probably the coolest person I will ever know, he is truly a legend.  My dad worked hard all of his life and nothing was handed to him on a silver platter.  Although he spoiled us, he made sure to teach us that it was important to work hard for something we wanted and to take care of the things we had.  I think the best thing that my dad taught me was to “ treat people the way you would want to be treated,”  and I know everyone tells you that but for him he lived his life that way and I saw it with everyone he talked with and it is  something I try to live by.  My dad always tried to be nice to everyone, but sometimes his direct honesty wasn’t always easy to hear.  He cared for everyone who walked into our house and made sure they felt welcome.  He loved us with everything in him, he would always make sure we were ok before anything else, we were always number one.  

My dad was very unique in so many ways, he never tried to act like anyone else, he was proud to be himself, which is the best way to live. He had no doubts that he could achieve anything he wanted, and he would work hard for it and was never afraid to speak his mind.  I believe my dad truly lived his life to the fullest.  

Something positive that has come from this terrible time is our dog Maximus weeks ago was struggling to breathe wasn’t eating and wasn’t acting like himself.  On the day of my father’s passing he started to get better and now seems to be completely recovered.  It was a miracle that we were not expecting but something my family really needed.  I know it’s because my dad is looking over us.  My dad was loved by so many people and I wanted to share some messages about my dad from a few friends and family.

This is what Sabrina wrote for her daddy, for his Eulogy.

Hi everyone, I’m Sabrina Allan as most of you know, I am Scott’s middle child.  I just wanted to say a few things about my dad, I didn’t want to start this being sad, so I’m going to talk about the little things my dad did that we loved.  

First, my dad loved movies, and absolutely hated tv shows.  Every time I would walk downstairs to the kitchen, he would be watching a different movie or watching his new favorite movie of the week that he would watch over and over.  We are a big movie family; we quote movies 24/7 or test each other to see if we remember the line from a movie.  My dad loved the ocean and I mean loved the ocean, so surfing movies were ideal for my dad.  I remember being in the kitchen on Father’s Day and seeing five new surfing movies that he had just bought, and he was so excited for us to watch them with him.  

I have never really understood why he had a such a fascination with the ocean, but my sisters and I basically grew up on beaches, which made us love it as much as he did.  Another little thing about him that I really enjoyed were the cards he would give us, he searched for hours and hours for the right card to give to us for birthdays and Christmas, and I kept every single one he gave me.  My dad was the best cook, and anyone that has eaten his food would agree with me.  He would know exactly what was missing from something just from a taste, and he knew how to make food that would just melt in your mouth.  My dad never made something that his girls wouldn’t like.

To the Allan Family,
I can't believe Scott is gone.  I have known him since he was 14! He was always funny and nice. He was the best water skier I have ever known.  One time John and Scott were working on the roof of the cabin and I came over. Scott was up on the roof in the hot sun with a roll of saran wrap around his waist. He said it was going to sweat off inches on his stomach. This lasted about an hour and he came down it was falling off with sweat and he was so hot. LOL !!! We laughed and laughed. 
So many good  memories from our teen years!

RIP Scott, love you.......

In loving memory of Scott who was more like a brother than a brother in law to me. Our hearts and prayers go out to Angela, the girls,  Scott’s mom and dad, and all of Scott’s siblings including my wife Jessica. The celebration of life service last night was done beautifully by all and the eulogy read by Sabrina was so special. Scott was always larger than life and loved his family more than anything in the world. He hosted so many special family gatherings and always cooked from scratch something amazing so all could enjoy. Our bond grew over the years as we played tennis together at Carriage Club so many times. Scott had the fastest serve in KC I think and did not care if they all went in. He had a gauge on his racquet to measure his ball speed. We had special one on one time after tennis matches over a meal and a drink. One time we raced up the hill from his club and he no doubt won. I remember seeing his car catch total air over the hill. Larger than life and always smiling.  Scott will always be remembered in our hearts daily. God bless the family and give them strength and grace in the coming days. We are here for you. This photo is where we sat in Scott’s kitchen for many joyous family gatherings. 

To the Allan Family,
Words can hardly express how deeply sorry we are for your devastating loss. Our hearts are breaking for you all. Scott was such a wonderful son, husband, father, brother and nephew. His heart will live on in all our hearts forever. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Dear Kaye, Joe, Angela, and entire Allan family -
   I cannot tell you how heavy our hearts have been since hearing of Scott's passing.  Our thoughts and prayers will be with you at today's service, and will always be with you.  I'm so sorry for Samantha, Sabrina, and Alexis – to lose such a great Dad at this time. I've had many reminiscences with Scott -- forever grateful he took me golfing at the nearby exclusive club when I came thru town on very short notice, when he let 4 of the Maronick cousins crash an engagement party with Angela at the Carriage House 29 years ago, doesn't seem that long ago.  He was always accommodating when we were in town, always curious (like his father), always fun (like his mother). I'm sorry we can't be there to share our feelings and memories, but hoping, in the not-too-distant future, we can share a toast in person – to Scott –  A life too short but well lived.

There are few words to express our sorrow that Scott is no longer here in body to laugh and joke and be the amazing guy he was but his spirit will live on. I'm glad we got to know Scott. We are the lucky ones. My heart and hugs go out to you my dear friend Angela and to the girls. Our last Christmas bash was amazing and I loved that Kurt and Scott spent time laughing and doing the guy thing talking about planes and what not. We love you and we are here to laugh, cry, remember and just be there for you. 

To all of the Allan family, 

I was so sorry and saddened to come across Scott’s obituary. I just returned from the lake and had actually just thought about him—remembering Scott driving us back in the boat from the Potted Steer in a bad rain storm. Scott had such big personality and zest for life. I’m so very sorry and hope that emptiness you feel is soon filled with only wonderful memories. 

Angela, Samantha, Sabrina and Alexis - We are simply in disbelief over Scott's passing.  We still expect to see Scott in your driveway and share a brief conversation over the fence. Dear Angela and girls,

We are so saddened at the loss of Scott, he was just the most vibrant and magnetic presence and made every occasion he was involved in that much more special.  When he was out here in NC visiting with Jaime and Karrie, we always wanted even more time with him.  What an incredible husband and father, and a beloved son and brother.   May you find comfort in your many wonderful memories.   Our thoughts and prayers to you all, and to Joe and Kaye.

I have left a message for Angela and the girls and also wanted to leave my thoughts with Joe and Kaye ... we are so terribly sad at this loss of such a wonderful and giving man.  Scott made every occasion seem truly special, he was the light in the room.   We all wish we had so much more time with him.  My heart aches for you.  Phil and I send our love

So many great times growing up together. Snowball fights in the yard on Pawnee, fun times at the lake. A great friend and cousin to me, great father, son, and husband.
