Sarah McCaskill went very peacefully to be with the Lord on November 13, 2019, the result of an unexpected, instant and catastrophic brain event. She was 30 years old, born January 9, 1989 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
Sarah was a member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church from her youth and worked for many years in the boys and girls club that is known as AWANA at the church. Sarah loved children and did everything possible to help them find God to and make their day brighter. Her cheerfulness and love were infectious and will be deeply missed.
Sarah was born with many severe learning disabilities. At age 13, Sarah was afflicted with Ulcerative Colitis and a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. She battled with these and other related auto-immune conditions and complications her entire life with many surgeries and hundreds of hospital days.
In spite of this, Sarah remained eternally cheerful through 10 lifetimes of suffering and loved working with people. In 2014, she became well enough to work full time at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City as well as Silver Dollar City and Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson, Missouri. The past 3 years, she worked for Target and the federal service center in Kansas City and enjoyed that very much. In January 2019, Sarah was afflicted with severe auto-immune arthritis throughout her body that completely disabled her. She moved in with her parents who cared for her.
Sarah is survived by her brother, Alexander McCaskill, 32, who is a Geotechnical Civil Engineer in Kansas City; and her mother and father, Stuart and Patricia McCaskill also in Kansas City.
Visitation will be at Antioch Bible Baptist Church located at 800 NE 72nd St, Gladstone, MO. 64118 on Friday, November 22 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm.
Sarah will be buried in the White Chapel Cemetery at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO. 64119 in a private service with her family.
