Sara was born on March 23, 1926 in Columbia, Missouri. She graduated in 1946 from Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. She continued her education at the University of Missouri with Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees. Always dedicated to excellence, she completed her education with Educational Specialist Degrees, one in Counseling and Guidance and one in Educational Administration. A lifelong educator, she spent most of her career as a teacher, counselor, and Director of Special Education for the Grandview, Missouri School District.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Botdorf; son, Michael Botdorf; husband, Gerald Nevins; her brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her son, Charles Botdorf; daughter, Joni (Botdorf) Logan; and grandchildren, Joshua Botdorf, Nathan Botdorf, Nicole (Botdorf) Cusick, Daniel Botdorf, and Preston Ream; she also leaves nine great grandchildren.
Sara will be dearly missed. She loved her family and enjoyed life.
A private family interment celebration will be held on June 29, 2024 at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home 10507 Holmes Rd. Kansas City, Missouri, 64131.
