Sally Jo (Pruitt/Freed) Woolsey 76, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, died Saturday, June 22 at The Village House at John Knox Village. Services will be at the Mount Moriah Funeral Home, Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00, immediately following will be the burial at Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00-11:00.
Sally Jo was born in Kansas City, MO on December 28, 1936. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1955. She worked in the clerical field throughout her life. She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church and taught Sunday school for many years. After moving to John Knox Village she remained very active. She served on the JKV Resident Counsel, was a member of the Rhythm Band, and led a bible study group. She had a passion for jewelry making and used proceeds from the sales to purchase school supplies for local grade schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. & Sarah K. Pruitt, and a sister Nancy K. Pruitt.
She is survived by eight children, Wendy Dickerson of Columbus, OH, Dennis Freed (Maria) of Mannheim, Germany, Joseph Freed (Austin), Beth Johnson (Dean), James Freed (Shelly), & Scott Freed (Angie) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Christina Novack and Sherri Crust of Springfield, MO, twenty grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Judy Hoss and Toni Mitzel and a brother, Andrew Pruitt, along with many nieces and nephews.
