Soon after they bought a 10 acre ranch in Shawnee, KS; as they both had a passionate love of animals. Having been avid horseriders, Ruthe and Glenn, rode and trained horses. Fearless of venturing into an unknown future, the couple opened Roller Skateland in Overland Park and with their success built another in Lenexa. Glenn passed away in 1989.
After selling the rinks, Ruthe continued her working career at Script Pro, starting there at its inception in 1976. Owned by the Coughlin’s the business flourished with Ruthe being part of its success. Her always cheerful mood and love for people, made her an adored employee for 38 years. Ruthe was also past president of the American Business Women’s Association and was president of her Condominium Association. Ruthe enjoyed her classic country music, fishing, horseback riding, and playing cards on many a rainy afternoon.
She is survived by her son David G. Norris; sister-in-law Jonell Fincke; four nieces, three nephews and two great-nieces. “The world has lost a bright shining star this week, and so have we.”
