RUTH IRENE MINOR, 84, of Blue Springs, MO left this world into the arms of her precious Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday May 4, 2013 as James her husband of 65 years and her elder daughter Mary were at her side. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. May 13, 2013 at the Church of the Nazarene in Blue Springs, MO. Family will receive friends from 6-7 at the church. Ruth made the decision years ago to make one final gift to society when she arranged to donate her body for medical research. Interment will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS at a later date.
Ruth is survived by James, her husband of 65 years. She is also survived by her children, Tommy Minor and his wife Mary, John Minor and his wife Kathy, Mary Malone and her husband Bill, Linda Main and her husband Ed as well as ten grandchildren, nine-teen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild to be born in June.
Ruth was born December 18, 1928 in Logan, OH to Charles and Marie Struble. She graduated from Logan High School. During her Senior year she met James. They married on January 18, 1948 forming a life-long team marriage. In the early years as he worked as an accountant Ruth reared four wonderful children, always being available for them. In their mid-30’s when James changed careers and became a minister, Ruth was beside him the whole way. For 30 years of ministry she helped by serving churches all over the United States and helping the family as she worked part-time at Sears, from which she retired. Ruth was an outgoing person who “never met a stranger”. Though her death leaves a big whole in our hearts, we rejoice that she is now in the arms of God who can care for her much better than we ever could.
